4H YOUTH ANIMAL SCIENCE SKILL A THON

Entries must be received by August 28, 2024 ; No late entries will be accepted.

This event is open to all 4H Youth members ages 8-18 as of 1/1 of the current year

Teams of 2-4 4H Youth will participate in a series of animal science stations. Teams will be assigned based on the numbers of entries. Each station will test the  knowledge of a species through hands on activities. Activities can include, but are not limited to tack identification, feed identification, heard health scenarios, handling techniques, etc…

Stations: Working Steer, Beef, Dairy, Sheep, Swine, Goat

All participants must register by August 28, 2024. Entry in this event does not make a participant eligible for an exhibitors pass.

The Hopkinton State Fair sponsors the ribbons and rosettes. The Merrimack County 4H Leaders Association will sponsor ice cream for each participant. The decision of the Judge is final! The Danish system of awards will be used. Ribbons will be based on team score, and rosettes will be awarded to the top 3 teams.
