All animals shown must be owned or leased by June 1, of the current year. All exhibitors who lease animals must have a valid lease agreement and an Intent to Show Form on file at their county 4H Office by June 1st of the current year. (You need to have copies of these forms with you.) This information will be checked prior to the day of show. 4-H members shall care for their animals while on the Fairgrounds with no adult assistance unless it is a case of safety issue.
Only one entry per class per breed will be allowed, including group classes.
The base date is Friday, August 30, 2024, which is the date the animal is to be judged. The original registration certificate is required for all animals six months of age or older and this MUST be shown to the Show Superintendent before the start of the show. The original registration certificate or duplicate application stamped by the ADGA office is required for all animals under six months of age and this MUST be shown to the Show Superintendent before the start of the show.
Note: All goats, including wethers, must have permanent identification and a scrapie tag in ear if not registered through ADGA. Animals must be penned all four days of the Fair to be eligible to show. Only animals that are entered in the show or classes L, M or N will be allowed to be penned during the fair. Fitting and Showing entries must also be entered in a type class or classes L, M or N.
In the event that entries exceed the capacity of available pens, exhibitors with entries of more than eight (8) animals, MAY be requested to reduce their total entry by 25%. Please notify the Superintendent, prior to arrival, if any animal entered on the entry form will not attend the Fair.
Write on entry form the total number of pens you need for your goats – not tack pens. Superintendent’s decision will be final regarding pen allocation and tack area.

A lead strap attached to the goat’s collar (no chain collars in these classes) must be used to work the goat through the obstacle course, lunch on the pack and costume classes. Participants are required to hold the lead strap only – your goat must know how to walk no pulling or dragging to do the next three classes. All goats will be tested before the show.
