The Superintendent will refuse to coop, pen or have judged any ailing, unthrifty or inferior specimen.
Registered purebred dairy animals only.
If animals are bred by exhibitor be sure to enter in the bred by exhibitor class. If the animals are not entered in this class they will not be allowed to be added later.
All Animals shown in Fitting and Showing must be shown in their respective breed classes. Members must use a calf or yearling in Fitting and Showing unless the exhibitor does not have an entry in either age group. Then they must use the next youngest animal regardless of breed. Only one entry per class, per breed will be allowed. All animals used in group classes must have been shown in their respective age class. Animals shall be shown by the owner/lessor, unless otherwise approved by the superintendent. If the superintendent or fair official observes a Fitting and Show animal being clipped or fitted by anyone other than the 4H member, that animal will be disqualified from the Fitting and Showing class and will be subject to premiums being withheld.

At the present time Hopkinton State Fair will be following the federal guidelines for exhibiting lactating cows for this year’s fair. Out of state cows must be compliant with both routine NH import regulations and the Federal Order, included negative test results. Test needs to be performed within ten (10) days of the fair, covering the entire fair (August 29 – September 2, 2024). Please work with your farm veterinarian regards to testing.
If you have your own milking equipment you may milk at your stall. Our milking parlor will be available if needed. A milking schedule will be developed with exhibitors using the parlor on Thursday, August 29th. This will allow for complete sanitation between farm herds. All milk will be disposed of.
We continue to work with Dr. Stephen Crawford, NH State Veterinarian and will update as needed to our exhibitors.
