FARMERS MARKET

Insurance Requirements for Exhibiting

Entries must be received by August 16th; no late entries will be accepted.

We will no longer be following the Danish Sytems of Judging for Farmers Market.  All Participants will receive a participation ribbon and premium,  There will only be (1) 1st place and (1) 2nd place winner for all lots everyone else falls under participant.

We do have some classes that have a 1st -4th place winner, these classes are not eligible for a participation ribbon/premium and will be marked with a ** and note. 

The Farmers Market location will be merged into the Home Arts building this year, it will remain its own department

Flowers, Vegetables, Maple Products, Honey, and Wreaths

Please follow individual class requirements as indicated at the beginning of each class listing.

All exhibits must be grown by exhibitor during the current year. No exhibitor may rearrange exhibit after judging begins. A plate/basket consists of at least five items unless otherwise specified. An exhibitor may enter one exhibit of each variety, but no duplicate entries will be permitted. Total number of plates/baskets per exhibitor per class not to exceed five (5). Superintendent and Judge reserve the right to combine classes or award additional prizes when number or quality of entries indicates.

The Farmers Market is open to drop off exhibits between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28th. All exhibits must be brought to the Farmers Market at this time. Judging will be done on Thursday, August 29th. Exhibits must remain in place until Monday, September 2nd at 7:00 PM. Exhibit pickup 7:30 PM but before 8:30 PM Monday, September 2nd, 2019. No vehicles will be allowed near the Farmers Market on Monday evening.

Exhibits may also be picked up from 10:00 AM – Noon on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019.

FOR VALIDATION OF PREMIUM PAYMENT – WORKSHEETS MUST BE SIGNED BY BOTH EXHIBITOR AND SUPERINTENDENT.

A market gardener display must consist of at least 15 different varieties of vegetables. Each of the 15 different varieties has to have at least the correct amount listed for the individual plates. All varieties must be labeled. The surplus from this garden is sold at a farm stand.

Limit: 1 Entry per Florist Arrangements for 2019 are: (1) silk arrangements, (2) arrangements with fresh flowers, (1) potted plant. Display will be judged on having the required arrangements and plants, quality and condition of plants and flowers, uniqueness of arrangements and plants and overall appearance of exhibit, including backdrop, table covering, decorations, signage, etc. Arrangements suitable for a Farmers Porch.

WREATHS GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  1. Wreaths need to be dropped off at the Home Arts/Farmers Market building  between 11:00 and 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2019.
  2. Exhibitors may enter any or all lots, but submit only one entry in each.
  3. All Wreaths should be handmade and of natural conifer greens and constructed on a 12″ ring. Any combination of tree greens permitted.
  4. Undecorated Wreaths will be judged for their construction, while decorated Wreaths will be additionally judged for the type of decorations and arrangement.
  5. A copy of the judging sheet is available from the superintendent upon request.
