FARMERS MARKET

New Insurance Requirements for Exhibiting

Entries must be received by August 17th; no late entries will be accepted.

NEW THIS YEAR:  We will no longer be following the Danish Sytems of Judging for Farmers Market.  All Participants will receive a participation ribbon and premium,  There will only be (1) 1st place and (1) 2nd place winner for all lots everyone else falls under participant

We do have some classes that have a 1st -4th place winner, these classes are not eligible for a participation ribbon/premium and will be marked with a ** and note. 

Flowers, Vegetables, Maple Products, Honey, Dairy Products, Christmas Trees, and Wreaths

The Farmers Market is located next to the Morrill Family Farm Museum. Exhibitors and customers will experience the farm setting from growing produce to trees.

Please follow individual class requirements as indicated at the beginning of each class listing.

All exhibits must be grown by exhibitor during the current year. No exhibitor may rearrange exhibit after judging begins. A plate/basket consists of at least five items unless otherwise specified. An exhibitor may enter one exhibit of each variety, but no duplicate entries will be permitted. Total number of plates/baskets per exhibitor per lot not to exceed five (5). Superintendent and Judge reserve the right to combine classes or award additional prizes when number or quality of entries indicates.

The Farmers Market is open to drop off exhibits between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 29th. All exhibits must be brought to the Farmers Market at this time. Judging will be done on Thursday, August 30th. Exhibits must remain in place until Monday, September 3rd at 7:00 PM. Exhibit pickup 7:30 PM but before 8:30 PM Monday, September 3rd, 2018. No vehicles will be allowed near the Farmers Market on Monday evening.

Exhibits may also be picked up from 10:00 AM – Noon on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018.

CLASS S – PROFESSIONALS

Limit: 1 entry per Florist Arrangements for 2016 are: (2) silk arrangements, (3) arrangements with fresh flowers, (1) potted plant. Display will be judged on having the required arrangements and plants, quality and condition of plants and flowers, uniqueness of arrangements and plants and overall appearance of exhibit, including backdrop, table covering, decorations, signage, etc.  Arrangements suitable for a Wedding.

CHRISTMAS TREE & WREATH GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  1. Trees and Wreaths need to be dropped off at the Farmers Market between 12:00 and 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.
  2. Trees must be grown in New Hampshire.
  3. Exhibitors may enter any or all lots, but submit only one entry in each.
  4. Trees should be 6 to 9 feet tall. Height to be measured from the butt (bottom of the handle) to the tip of the leader.
  5. Trees will be judged on:
    1. Foliage – density, insect and disease damage, freshness, color.
    2. Handle – condition and length (between 6”-9”).
    3. Taper – 40 to 100% for all species.
    4. Top – condition and length (should be consistent with the symmetry of the tree).
    5. Overall merchantability of tree.
  6. All Wreaths should be handmade and of natural conifer greens and constructed on a 12″ ring. Any combination of tree greens permitted.
  7. Undecorated Wreaths will be judged for their construction, while decorated Wreaths will be additionally judged for the type of decorations and arrangement.
  8. The Danish System of judging will be used.
  9. Exhibitors may display name and location of Christmas tree farm after completion of judging at exhibit with appropriate sign not to exceed six inches by twelve inches.
  10. A copy of the judging sheet is available from the superintendent upon request.

CLASS T – SHEARED TREE

Any tree showing visible signs of shearing or clipping will be judged in this Class.
