4H YOUTH WORKING STEER SHOW
Entries must be received by August 15th; no late entries will be accepted.
At the discretion of the Superintendent, classes may be combined.
The Superintendent will refuse to coop, pen or have judged any ailing, unthrifty or inferior specimen.
Condition and appearance of pair and teamster considered.
CLASS REFERENCE :
- Oxcart Performance – Senior Member, Ability of team and teamster to hitch to, and maneuver with a two-wheeled cart, as directed by Judge, considered.
- Oxcart Performance – Junior Member, Ability of team and teamster to hitch to and maneuver with a two-wheeled cart, as directed by Judge, considered.
- Oxcart Performance – Novice Member, Ability of team and teamster to hitch to and maneuver with a two-wheeled cart, as directed by Judge, considered.
- Best Trained Pair – Senior Member, Response to teamster’s commands as directed by Judge considered.
- Best Trained Pair – Junior Member, Response to teamster’s commands as directed by Judge considered.
- Best Trained Pair – Novice Member, Response to teamster’s commands as directed by Judge considered.
- Distance Pull – A timed distance pull of load approximately 70% of the weight of the team for Senior, Intermediate and Junior, and 50% for Novice. Judge considers age, ability and performance of teamster and team – not distance alone.

Each teamster will be scored daily on: general appearance of 4H Youth member and exhibit, care of show box and equipment, care of animals and stalls, personal appearance, conduct presence at exhibit, willingness to interact with public and share information about their exhibit, cooperation, sportsmanship and promptness at ringside.
