4-H SWINE SHOW
Saturday, 11:00 AM – Show Ring
At the discretion of the Superintendent. classes may be combined.
The Superintendent will refuse to coop, pen or have judged any ailing, unthrifty or inferior specimen.
Entries must be received by August 6th; no late entries will be accepted.
All swine projects exhibited must have proper identification either in the form of tattoo or ear notching and so noted on approval sheet. Show canes, show whips and/or sticks not more than 1″ diameter and approximately four feet long will be used. No paddles or hurdles permitted.
Classes will be divided to provide for not more than 10 animals per class. All animals must be shown as individuals in the ring. Superintendent reserves the right to excuse unruly pigs from ring (animal still eligible for premiums).
CLASS REFERENCE :
- Market Hog – Lightweight,gilt, or barrow. Approximately 200 lbs.-250 lbs.
- Market Hog – Heavyweight, gilt or barrow. Approximately over 250 lbs.
- Feeder Pigs, gilt or barrow under 200 lbs. (approximately). Pigs entered in Lot 1 or 2 may not be shown in any other breed classes.
- Herd. 1 Boar (over 6 mos.) and 3 females.
- Handling Class. Ability of the exhibitor to maneuver their hog through a course as directed by the Judge.

Saturday, 1:00 PM – Show Ring
Costume Class: Judged on exhibitor’s creativity, Pigs to be in costume, exhibitor optional. All participants will be recognized.
Each member will be scored daily on: general appearance of 4H member and exhibit, care of show box and equipment, care of animals and stalls, personal appearance, conduct presence at exhibit, willingness to interact with public and share information about their exhibit, cooperation, sportsmanship and promptness at ringside. Animals will be cared for by 4H member while at the fair, with no adult assistance.
BEST EDUCATIONAL DISPLAY
Exhibitors are encouraged to set up individual displays to educate the public.
